ESG recognized by Virginia Energy

Energy Systems Group (ESG) is pleased to be an Energy Savings Company (ESCO) serving Virginia through the Virginia Department of Energy’s Energy Savings Performance Contracting Program. In October, Governor Northam announced that Virginia had reached more than $1 billion in energy savings, becoming only the second state to accomplish this milestone. ESG is proud to support Virginia Energy and the ESPC program. We congratulate Virginia Energy on this accomplishment and appreciate being recognized as a partner and contributor to this program.

Virginia Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Performance Contracting Support Program was created in 2001. Through the program, state agencies, higher education facilities, and other public bodies like K-12 schools, enter into a contract with an ESCO to significantly reduce energy costs and renew infrastructure through one or more conservation or operations measures. The savings, which are typically guaranteed by the ESCO, are used to pay for the cost of the project over time. Over 270 projects across Virginia have been completed to reduce energy expenses, modernize infrastructure, promote environmental conservation and stewardship, and increase operational efficiencies.
